Turn Key Manufacturing of a Steel Electronic Enclosure for the Medical Industry

Known for our extensive inventory of advanced technology metal fabrication machinery, Red River Precision Mfg., Inc.'s skills were called on to produce a steel electronic enclosure for a medical laser used for stimulating hair growth. Working from customer-supplied specifications, our machining specialists created the CAD programming for cost-effectively launching a multi-step manufacturing process for turning 0.74” thick cold-rolled steel into a 16”x 16” x 40-inch long cabinet that met the exacting demands of the medical industry.

A streamlined operation, employing techniques including shearing, punching, forming, and welding, was initiated, then followed up by a sanding process to deliver the smoothest finish before applying a white wet coat Polane® finish. Dimensional inspection verified that each cabinet in this initial 125-unit order held to the tight ±.010” tolerance requirement. In 4 short weeks, we were able to ship this order to a satisfied customer in Austin, and we are pleased that they have contracted us to manufacture this enclosure on an ongoing basis.
